The newspaper is to inform, to interpret the news, to provide a service to readers, and to entertain. These functions explain what the newspaper does, and they are why people read it. Newspapers help readers become informed citizens and make better decisions by providing lots of facts.I chose to put my creative report in the form of a newspaper because the brief itself claims that we must create a report that is both engaging in terms of both in its style and content. The newspaper would fill this part of the brief as it creates a report in an appropriate way, it informs the readers on the issues and passage from tuition to industry, from offering information from someone who is already in the industry.
Target Audience:
Students who want to know what the transition from university to the industry is like.
Visual Literacy:
To begin considering the presentation of the information, I looked at some design inspiration. I wanted the feel and textures that are relevant to a newspaper, but without the traditional layout of said style.
I would rather move towards a typographic approach as it would allow, for the information to be the main focus of the piece rather than the work of the professional I am interviewing or myself.
This also best fits the purpose as it will be made for students to gain an understanding of the movement from university to industry, therefore many copies would need to be printed to be able to have them handed out to the amount of people that is required in this target demographic.
Key Points:
- Large type
- Never full bleed
- High contrast between paper, type, and colour.
Printing:
As I want to create the full style and feel of the textures and size of a broadsheet/tabloid newspaper I will not be able to use the university facilities. Therefore I would have to look for exterior companies that would be able to print the document. Both of the companies below would be able to send the prints within the space of the deadline. I will be printing with Print on Paper, as they offer a student discount, and also send 2x the amount of copies to ensure that if anything goes wrong I will have a spare copy; showing my consideration into alternatives if my print goes wrong.

Design Process:
The design was highly inspired by the concept, each of the pages only includes the text and the colour. All of the information is constricted the refinds of the grid that I created. this is the keep a certain element of design to the piece when the final product is folded (even though the layout is alternative on each section) the separate questions and answered are separated to one single question and answer when it is printed. Meaning when unfolded the layout may seem confusing but the medium itself creates clarification. This is similar to the way in which everyone who I have spoken to have said they were unsure and didn't really know their path when entering the industry, but the industry structure itself creates clarity for their path.
Yellow was used, as previously researched in other projects this year, as it symbolises mental growth and energy, which is needed when moving from university life to industry. I also feel like these were qualities that were involved in the actual making of the creative report also.
After all of the questions, the final page of the document credited Ryan for answering the questions, with a mention of both his Behance and Instagram accounts so anyone who is reading the document can follow his work.
