First Meeting:Our first meeting was discussed in the previous blog post.
Second Meeting:
In our second meeting we continued exploring ideas, the idea which seemed most viable was the interchangeable metal grid. We began to make a list of ideas that we should mockup to be able to show the concept in its best light during the presentation. In the process of doing so, we had another look at the brief, it said...
“Consider what you could have, what would be a place to work that comes from your creative imagination. No budget, no restrictions. Consider what could be amazing be aware of what architects and interior can be, go nuts BUT remember you must have a real reason to base this presentation on, meaning WHY and also consider technology and what technology can be used not just for now, but consider the next 10 years or more. Get a story together, a rationalised presentation that both engages and wows.''
Although the interchangeable sign would be ideal for a university environment, it needed to be taken into consideration that the uni is an artistic and creative environment and therefore should be treated as such. We should have a different and exciting method of wayfinding because that's how we present ourselves to the public and our work. The brief after re-evaluating clearly states that there are no limitations to our ideas and there are no limitations physically in terms of budget or installation.
Taking this into consideration we considered the way in which we could expand our idea, making it more interesting and embracing the lack of restrictions on the project. Our previous ideas were very considered in terms of adhering to an appropriate budget and considering the ways in which it should be representative of the university.
In order to define a new idea taking into consideration of the lack of budget and the way which the idea should create a sense of 'wow', we started from the beginning thinking about our previous idea of what was really needed. We began to consider the use of technology, as most analogue systems would need more work to keep updated. The brief states that the idea should be able to be developed and remain relevant over the next 10 years. We began to consider the way in which everyone is becoming reliant on their technology, and therefore in the future would become even more dependant on, thus we should base our system around it to keep it modern and relevant.
The idea would be to have a walkthrough where the audience could use their mobile devices to guide their way through the building, the interface could be opened using a simple QR code or a link which would launch the interface on that device. After basic ideas considered we decided to stick to this idea and further develop it.

The elements we discussed that would be needed to present the idea were:
- Menu with facilities and all other rooms available.
- Different workshops.
- Course locations e.g. Graphic Design.
We also discussed the possibility of different languages being included, which would make the wayfinding more accessible to international students, which would not be happening with a more traditional style of wayfinding systems.
Third Meeting:
In the third meeting, we made sure that all of the different elements had been completed and come together correctly in order to make a successful presentation. We planned what would then go into the final presentation and what we should have included each. In order to make the workload fair, we created the presentation on Google Slides as we could all access it, and therefore contribute to it. From using Slides we could also contribute and discuss ideas using the chat platform, and then each of us changes the presentation in real time.
