During our session we were given the task of writing out a
few words which best describe our chosen few peers. Everyone in the group was
to do one for everyone else in the group, this was an interesting task as we
have only know each other for a small amount of time; meaning each of the words
would be very few first impressions.
It was made to give us an idea around what to start
beginning our self-branding brief on. As we already have an opinion on
ourselves it makes it interesting to find out what peoples first impressions of
us are, and start to consider how that could be visually represented in our
brand; and if at all they reflect our own thoughts.
My words I gathered included:
- Midget
- Creative
- Stylish
- Seshy
- Motherly
- Approachable
- Friendly
- A little blind
- Neat
- OCD
- Chef
- Precise
- Organised
It was interesting to see how other peoples first perception of me was, this gives me an idea of how people see
my personality. Some of these features pickup up from others I can relate to my own perception of myself, such as I know I am a very precise person; this can sometimes hinder my design work, yet I believe it's a positive to make sure my works precise to what I needed.
This excercise has taught me also that I need to be a little more outgoing and not focus on making work completely perfect cause if I continue to do so I will find it hard to progress.
