Found Art Work
I find art work that I manage to find when I’m out and about inspiring, this
year I’ve learnt to take inspiration from things I see. This could be sampling
colours, explored in my Pantone book ‘Pantone your street’, this is something I
want to do more in the future. Taking inspiration from found art work could
also be seeing how typefaces work outside, around different environments and
letting that be an influence on my work. An example of this can be seen below
which is a piece I love, found on a trip in Dublin, I think it works well and
the type contrasts the bold and vibrant colours; which stand out against a city
backdrop. I love how the bricks of the wall work as a grid, and it reminds me that whats already in place can really have an effect on your work.

Blogs
Blogs such as It’s Nice That and Creative Review help influence and
inspire me, as I love keeping up to date with what’s happening in the world of
design. I think by keeping up to date with what’s happening in the design world
around me it will help me develop personally through current inspirations, as
well as knowing new designers on the scene to keep a look at their work and possibly
build my own creative network.
Editorial magazines
I look a lot at art magazines and fashion magazines for inspiration,
this is because I like the minimalistic clean nature of the designs, personally
I am very interested in art direction within the world of print. The main
inspiration I had looked to before university life, was very mainstream
magazines such as GQ and ID, whereas now due to the resources at LCA; the
journals in the library, have allowed me to broaden the content I am seeing.
